I recently was trying to wave a permanent marker to get it to work, and it splattered all over my skin and computer screen. I know it can only take time to remove it from my skin, but how do I remove it from my computer screen?

My 2 year old drew with a permanent marker pretty pictures on my husbands Xbox 360 controller! Thanks to all of your ideas I got it off before my hubby came home! Rubbing alcohol did the trick. (09/17/2006)

My daughter was making a poster for a Volleyball game using Red permanent marker which was bleeding through on the Dining room table. I noticed she was rubbing the table (and saw the stain) and to no avail it did not come out. We read the entries above and tried the Hairspray and within a minute it was gone.

Try using rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball. it should be safe on your computer screen, my hubby uses it to clean his screen, and rubbing alcohol always gets marker stains off of desk tops when I use it. (09/20/2006)

My 2 year old drew all over his dad's brand new surround sound speakers with permanent marker. Luckily, some hairspray and the scrub side of a sponge was all it took to get it out. It took a couple sprays but after about 5 minutes the scribbles were gone. (09/22/2006)

To all of you who recommended Deep Woods Off. THANK YOU! Our family owns a lawn and garden equipment sales and service business. This afternoon, my 3-year-old was in the showroom and used a black Sharpie on one of my high dollar, commercial grade zero-turn mowers. After reading the posts, I ran up to the house, luckily had some Deep Woods Off, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! I had to scrub a bit on the porous seat material, but the Dee Woods Off REALLY worked well. Saved me a LOT of money!
The hairspray didn't work well. It was too sticky. (09/29/2006)

My three year old just drew all over my computer LCD screen with a sharpie and we used repel insect spray and it wiped right off, no scrubbing at all. Thanks for the advice. We tried alcohol but it was taking a while and scrubbing on the screen that could have damaged it. (10/02/2006)

My 3 year old is quite the artist and she drew on her daddy's computer screen and laptop with black permanent marker! I tried the only bug spray I have: Off Skintastic for kids. It came right off no problem. Thanks for the idea Leigh. You saved Kel and myself from explaining why expensive things are more fun to draw on then pieces of paper! (10/12/2006)

My 2 year old got ahold of red sharpie and decided our flat screen computer screen would be fun to draw on! It's not even ours, we are renting to own it. I tried the rubbing alcohol and it barely got most of it off but Lysol did the trick! (11/22/2006)

I just returned to the office and found my 3 year old son decorating my brand new Office Desk, both printers and the rug with a navy blue Permanent marker. Before I lost my mind I googled "How do I?" and this website came up. All I can say is Thank-you everyone for the tips on the bug spray and thank you google for the response. (01/05/2007)

Couldn't get a marker to work so I shook it and "permanent" ink splattered all over my aluminum/titanium Powerbook g4 and varnished wood desktop. Unichem Conditioning Nail Polish Remover and a bit of toilet paper wiped it all off in minutes. No harm to surfaces. (01/17/2007)

We are putting new hard wood flooring in our home and we used permanent marker to draw for the cuts then realized we didn't need to cut the piece of wood. Nail polish remover really worked! (01/27/2007)

Vinyl Erasers with gentle strokes took away the permanent marker on my laptop screen without doing any damage at all! (02/02/2007)

i use scotch bright erasers or Mr Clean, even the store bought ones work. It takes perm marker off immediately with no damage to walls or paint and no toxic odors either. (02/02/2007)
