Removing Quick Shine from Hardwood Floors?

My floors were looking dull so I applied Quick Shine to them. They looked great at first. My son decided to surprise me while I was out of town and applied 5 coats of Quick Shine to "restore them". They were left with streaks. I've tried everything I can think to of to remove this product from my floors including a Shark steamer, floor scrubbers, Windex, vinegar and water and nothing has worked. My husband has even gotten on his hands and knees to no avail. You can see spots where the solution is gone and patches where it remains. At this point I'm wondering if my only hope is sanding them down and re-staining them.

I'm not sure if you realize or not that Quick Shine has a deep cleaner. The deep cleaner is used to remove the quick shine off your floors. You need to use the cleaner in hot water and apply this to your floors. It should sit on the floors for several hours to work correctly. Afterwards, you should be able to mop this up. If you still have a few areas that have this build up on them, you'll need to do it again.

Doubt its that easy..anything that shines floors that well will cause a build up..use water and Norwex microfiber mops...work wonderfully..so awesome! My dad was in the part owner of a very large worldy janitor service..he will tell you NEVER use these products..not on tile vinyl and especially not on wood floors!!

We have used Quick Shine for years on our laminate floors. In fact, our home cleaning company has applied Quick shine to these floors every week for at leas 8 months and the floor retained its glossy finish throughout this entire period. Unfortunately , the buildup of

the finish began to flake because of our dogs toes that scratched through the multiple coats.I dreaded the thought of having to remove all of the many coats of quick shine that we had applied to our floors and contacted a local floor cleaning company to see if they could do the job. They came to our home and gave me a price of $3.00 per sq. foot to remove all of the old Quick shine. As the size of our gresat room is 28" x 36', their price was more than $3,000.

I called Holloway House ans was instructed to buy their deep cleaning product and follow the simple directions of pouring it into a bucket of hot water and then spreading this mixture on our floor. A few minutes later it began to dissolve and all I did was to use my small rollaround vacuum to suck up the liquid off of the floor. With negligible effort, I had our floor looking great in less than an hour!

In a few places, I had to reapply the water and deep cleaner to remove what I had missed. When I finished the floor had completely dried.
I then reapplied Quick Shine product in less than 15 minutes across the entire floor and it looked great again. Thank you Holloway House.

P.S. The cost, about $8 for the Deep Cleaner and Quick Shine products vs.$3,000 from the cleaning company. As a result, I contemplated un-retiring and starting my own flooring cleaning business. At 88 years of age, however, and even though this was an easy job , I am not sure I could do this on a daily basis. Once every 2 or 3 months, would be a snap even for you and I.

This product is hell to get off wood floors. Do not keep coating the floors with it. It is the worst wood floor product I have ever used. Days and days to get off. Never again.
