Removing rust from indoor water pipes is not an easy task and usually requires the service of a plumber for. The job cost will vary depending upon the type of metal pipe, extent of the pipes, difficulty in access, degree of rust. etc. Many older houses were built with galvanized pipes which rust over time and usually need to be completely replaced because of the rust buildup and rust damaged joints.
You can request plumbing service estimates from several companies to get an idea of the eventual costs. You can also try a search online if you are a "do-it yourself" person for an estimate of needed replacement pipes, equipment, etc.
How can I clean out my house water pipes filled with rust? The question was asked before, but the answer was bad. Is there anybody who can answer the question?
The inside of the pipes are filled with rust how can I remove that myself?
