My daughter has a white cotton comforter that has some odd set-in stains. I am not even sure what they are, maybe chocolate milk or something she ate in bed (7 year olds do this). The comforter has been washed and dried several times, so the stains are set in stone. I can't use bleach because there is some lovely light gold embroidery on the end of it.

Dissolve 6 or 7 denture tablets in a bucket of warm water. Then soak the stained object in it for a whole day and then rinse out. We had white curtains that had gone yellow from smoking tenants in our property. They came up like new
Best of luck

Great idea! also use denture cleaning tablets to clean my coffee carafe and thermoses! Never thought about using on laundry! Thanks!
You have nothing to lose at this point, so try this. Get powdered dishwasher detergent, and pour the entire box into your washer filled with warm water. Agitate enough to dissolve the detergent. Place the comforter in the machine, and make sure it is submerged, especially the spots. Let soak over night. If partially successful, repeat.
I tried that method yesterday, it didn't take my stains out at all.
dishwasher detergent for dishwashers is very corrosive to fabrics , also causes rashes for those that are sensitive
Use shout the one that says set in stain. It works on all set in stains. But it has to say it on the bottle
heap detergents do ot work.
