Removing Silly Putty from a Couch?

Removing Silly Putty from a Couch - spot on upholsterySomeone got Silly Putty on the family couch and it won't come off. Everybody says to use some type of grease thing or rubbing alcohol, which I can't go to the store today to buy. Any other ways?

I would scrape off as much as possible with a butter knife and use an ice cube to freeze the rest and keep scraping it off.

This information is from the Crayola web site. Be VERY sure to test any solution in an inconspicuous place before using on a spot.

Scrape off as much putty as possible. Use ice cubes to chill the putty making it easier to scrape away. Saturate a cotton ball with nail polish remover and blot the stained area. Repeat as needed. Rubbing alcohol is a good substitute for nail polish remover.

Most of recommendations will be to use WD-40 or Goo Gone and clean it up with rubbing alcohol and white vinegar so it would be best to have everything you need before you begin.

Some say you can take the silly putty and rub it against the silly putty on the couch and it will take some of it away. Try an ice cube and then scrape it away. Wipe with clean water.
Be careful to test on unseen places first.

You can try icing the area, using a blunt knife or some sort of scraper slowly scrape the putty, and use rubbing alcohol - repeat until its gone.

I have gotten something similar out of mine with goo gone, let it dry, then cleaned it with upholstery cleaner

Ice cube will turn it hard and should allow it to be peeled off

Peanut butter removes goop from lots of things. Just spread a bit of peanut butter on the area. Let sit for a bit before scrubbing off.
