Removing Wax from Clothing?

I got wax on a pair of pants and it dried before I found it. I put stain removal product on it and washed in cold water. After washing it is still there. What do I do? How do I get this out?

Wax paper, iron, plastic scraper

  • Take dry waxed fabric and place paper or cardboard underneath fabric where wax is located
  • Place wax paper or parchment on top of wax
  • Use iron at setting appropriate for fabric to reheat wax
  • Allow wax to melt and then harden as it cools
  • Pull wax paper away from fabric (wax should adhere to to paper and away from fabric)
  • Then use plastic scraper on underside of stained fabric if necessary to remove any residual wax left behind

If you don't have an iron a hair dryer should work

*a brown paper bag can substitute wax paper
* also can try freezing fabric and chopping away wax once frozen
