Did you try the iron? Did anything work?

Steel wool worked on my white table but Im sure it depends upon which type of paint. A high gloss would probably scratch off. Mine was a sealed flat or possibly chalk paint.

I inherited 3 70 year old, flat matt black painted bunching tables from my mother. Two were damaged with white water marks. I wanted to use them for Thanksgiving to put serving dishes on, instead of cluttering the table.
