How do I remove a dryer scratch off of black polyester material? It's a little white mark that runs across the black material, but the white and red is completely fine! It's my hockey sweater jersey and it's driving me bananas.

Can you use a permanent Sharpie to cover it?

This may not be a scratch but may be a thread that did not dye properly.
- I agree with Judy about trying to use a black permanent marker (Sharpie) as this may work on polyester.
- Try a Sharpie that has a medium size tip that is about the size of the line.
- Lay the garment on something that will keep it from slipping and try to color a few inches to see how it does. If all goes well finish the line and then turn garment inside out and color on the underside also.
- After you finish both sides work the jersey around a little to see if you missed any spots.
- Launder your shirt as usual and look for more missed spots.
- Sometimes this will take more than one time to really set the color.
- You might want to soak your jersey in a pan of water with a cup of regular salt added as this will help to set the color.
