I have an old black permanent Sharpie stain on my upholstered chair. Is it way too late to remove this stain? It's over a year old! Nothing was ever done to try to remove the stain.

Most sites say to use alcohol for stain removal but there are other suggestions as well.
- Use rubbing alcohol. Wet a cloth and dab it on the black permanent-marker stain. The black marker should transfer onto the cloth. Make sure not to scrub at the stain because that could make it worse.
- Continue blotting the black permanent-marker stain until the stain is gone. This may take a little while, so remember to be patient and keep getting a clean area of cloth.
- Here is a link to Wiki-How that has a lot of suggestions on how to remove stains but read carefully and find the instructions for your type of furniture.

I'd try upholstery/rug shampoo with a damp cloth on it for best results.

Dry erase marker over Sharpie generally removes it.
