How do I remove the bottom of a food can?

If the bottom is shaped like the top, go ahead and use your can opener. If it's the type of rounded edge that won't fit a can opener, the only way would be to drill a hole along the bottom edge and then cut it out with a saw of some kind --- jigsaw or hacksaw(you would have to take the blade off the frame to feed it through the hole, then reattach to frame). Good luck.
Regular cans - all sizes - can be done just like the top - use a safe can opener.
I do not think it would be very safe to try removing bottom from a rounded bottom can.
I agree with you on that. It would make a sharp edge on the removed bottom. I will wait until I open one that is not rounded. Thanks for your response.
If the bottom is the same as the top, you can use a regular hand or electric can opener. If it is rounded unlike the other end , you may need to poke a small hole first , so that a opener can fit in.
Same method as opening the can from the top. Unless it's different shape.
You can search on Google to find the best alternative for your shape. Or respond to let us know what food can.
Maybe use Heavy grit sandpaper or a file. And work the bottom of the can, the sandpaper will work its way through the thin metal eventually. And then cut the rest with some tin snips.
