Repairing a Casio Corded Calculator?

Why does my plug-in calculator heats up at the start? It is an old Casio DR-220T calculator. It has a printing mechanism. It's plastic case is yellow already because of age. When I plug it in and turn it on, it will heat up in a few minutes like 5-10 minutes after turning it on. It's unlike my Olympia calculator which is bigger. What causes it?
