Use a patch and cement for bicycle tubes. they are designed to hold under high air pressure. Make sure to press the patch on well - the cement is usually a kind of contact cement, so follow the instructions carefully. And make sure the patch doesn't contact the other side of the air mattress.

Bicycle patch kits do not work on vinyl. At least it didn't for me . The bicycle patch glue is made to bond Rubber and works very well for that purpose, but with vinyl it holds for a day or two and then starts coming apart.
