I noticed the motor was loose. I tried tightening the motor and running the machine. The belts came off and a nut as well. I figured out the nut went on the screw that was attached to the bottom pulley. I put it back together and the same thing happened. It seems like the screw is stuck to the pulley wheel.
My question is regarding the bottom pulley wheel. Its assembly is as follows: screw, thin slip on lock, thin pink washer, the other side of the pulley has a thin pink washer, a thick metal washer that slides on over threaded screw and then the whole part I just described threads onto a metal movable part and then the nut is attached to hold it in place.
Is the pulley part of the screw? Because once I tighten the screw with the nut the pulley wheel does not turn. Is it suppose to spin on the screw or is the screw part of the pulley? I would think the screw should pull out. The bottom pulley also controls the top pulley wheel which has no problem.

There is a YouTube video. This is a difficult project to do yourself. m.youtube.com/
I don't believe the pulley is part of the screw because if it was it would not malfunction in the way you are experiencing.
