The only problem with my typewriter is that the key to letter "i" doesn't respond. Everything else works just fine! What can I do?

Open the cover to the typewriter. That key is probably bent out of shape. Gently bend it back
Excuse the ignorance , but please reassure me I can take off ALL the cover, because, as you can see in the picture, I have no visual access to the keys with what I know how to open in this machine. My fear is harming something else and damaging the typewriter. Again, sorry because I'm not knowledgable when it comes to typewriters!
These are a challenge and you may need a pro to fix as they are no like the old fashioned typewriters.
You can see if this video will help, but I am not sure if this is your challenge.
There are repair places in most big cities so hopefully you are nearxa city where they can save it. Post back what you learn!!
Thank you for the video, but there's no problem with typing in my machine...just ONE letter won't type, and that's the letter "i". I already went to the only place here where they still sell the typing and correction ribbons for it, but they don't know of anyone that can work or fix these "old" models!
Thank you so much for trying to help!
Here is a list of lots of repair people around the world! You may want to find someone on the list (if you scroll to the bottom there are many in the US if that is where you are) and find one and ask.

I am always calling and asking questions and most of the time people are very kind. I hope someone can tell you how to easily fix your "i".
Blessings and best wishes for an easy solution from an expert!!
Wow! Thank you so much! I don't live in continental USA, but my brother is in Winston-Salem, NC,and there's a person there who fixes old typewriters. I sent him a screenshot with the address so he can check for me and, if needed, I'll send him my typewriter thru the mail, or, if he allows me to consult by phone!
We typewriter fans need to stick together. One of my big regrets is not getting one of my old uprights fixed. I loved that thing and now I miss it!! My email alert tone is a typewriter sound. Something so special about these machines...especially if you grew up "writing" on them like I did. The really old ones with the ding at the end of each line was like celebrating an accomplishment!! Post back how it goes!!
