I have a large, old, metal birdbath. It has started leaking because of corrosion and am wondering if anyone knows how to restore-fix it.
Presuming you like the look of the exterior but don't want the expense of hiring someone to braise or weld the metal, why not simply find a plastic or glass bowl which fits inside? Spray paint the exterior and you should be good to go.
I have rust inside my metal birdbath. What can I do to remove it?
Thanks,
ladydi
Let it dry out then use the wire brush wheels on a hand drill to clean off as much rust as possible. If rust remains in the crevices try something containing oxalic acid, such as Zud Household Cleanser or Bar Keeper's Friend cleanser, and make a paste out of it and rub it into the crevices and let it set for awhile.
