My Morphy Richards 48268 bread maker was working perfectly. Then this morning there was a rattling sound from the motor area and the paddle and the shaft were not turning. Help!

Since you are in the UK you should be able to contact the company.
It may be best if you could contact the company first and see if they can talk you through what is happening (is there an error code?) as this is a nice machine but it is probably going to need parts and they're the best ones to help you.
they have a dedicated help phone line and also a web contact form. You may have to wait on the phone for a while so be prepared for that.

There are also bread maker forums that offer help with problems.
Thank you very much. I am not in the UK. I am in Ireland. Thanks for all the links. I appreciate it.
The links are for Ireland also.
If you have heard a rattling sound from the motor area that normally indicated a piece has broken inside the mother of the machine. If the paddles are no longer turning and the grinding noise is there it would indicate that the spindle motor that turns the paddles is damaged.
