There are YouTube videos that may give you the easiest solution. Without knowing your brand, I found one that talks about seam repair:

You can search YouTube just like Google with the pop up brand and what you want to do! This has saved me money many times over and I even fixed my 30 year old vacuum cleaner myself and I am NOT handy!

You will probably be more successful if you Google pop up "name brand" trailer repairs parts - so you can call and ask about your model in particular.
One of the name companies should be able to help you with the exact tool you need and also let you order it or at least let you know what to look for.
I did not see any DIY instructions or any YouTube videos that came even close to what you are looking for.
