I just got a Smith-Corona typewriter, and the only thing that was told to me was that it needed cleaning. I did this, but the #4 key keeps repeating itself when I hit it. I do not know how to fix it, and I'm not sure where to go to find out how to fix it.

I would context the person you bought it from. This is false advertising. You should get a refund. If you dont, the next time you buy a used item test it out to make sure it works.
Did the 4 key stick BEFORE you cleaned it? If so, then I suggest talking to the seller and asking what they can do to make it right. I am assuming you bought it online or through a dealer somewhere???
A reputable store or online seller (like eBay or Etsy) will usually work with you.
If you bought it through Facebook market place, you have no protections, unless you paid through Paypal then you can contact Paypal and see if they can help you.
Now if the 4 key worked before you cleaned it and now it is an issue, contacting the seller will be useless as they well tell you you did something when you cleaned it. Even if you didn't, it becomes your word against theirs. This is just one of the sad facts of the resale world...like if you buy something brand new and it works, then you stick a screw driver in it, you invalidate any "warranty" that it it had.
Now, all that said, there are a ton of YouTube videos on getting these gems to work. Here is one:

It is not for your model, just wanted to give you a sample of what is out there.
Post back with an update and let me know if you can get it fixed.
