I have an Oster 5858 bread maker. The shaft that holds the paddle falls out of the bowl base bottom. I used to be able to take the bowl base out, attach the paddle onto the shaft, add the wet ingredients and dry ingredients, and then push/snap it (lock it) in place into the breadmaker. Now I have to keep the bowl base with the shaft locked in the breadmaker, then attach the paddle so that I can fill the bowl with liquids and then the dry ingredients. The shaft does sits slightly lower, but still works with the paddle. The bread maker still does a good job of mixing the dough.
Is there a part that I can replace so the shaft does not fall out of the bottom of the bowl? Thank you for your help. I just love my breadmaker and would like to fix it.

In these types of machines, there can be an issue with the base of the bread maker and the shaft. It can break and the teeth can no longer snap into place like they should. You can not just replace one or the other you need to replace the complete unit. That is the pan and the shaft needs replacing. There are many places that you can order the parts online and they are easy to replace in your machine.
Sounds like you need troubleshooting for this issue, it may need a adjustment - This link can take your question and also sell parts- www.ereplacementparts.com/
Sometimes these problems can be fixed but generally they need parts and although some people can replace the parts themselves, sometimes they need help.
