Hmm...this may be me, but I don't know there is a way to replace the little slide-y thing that covers the battery if it broke off. They are really poorly designed in my opinion!
I have never seen parts for sale for these machines--except for the pads that is.
You could try duct tape to hold it down (this is from my hubby who uses duct tape for everything).
I would call Swiffer and see if they will replace the unit.
