I am needing to know how to replace the belt on my Singer model 734. I see that it may be a bit complicated, but if anyone can tell me how, I am willing to try making the repair.
Thank you.

I would contact the company. Im sure they have diagrams. www.singer.com/
I contacted singer but no where does it tell me anything about replacing the belt.. I can see the belt up in the machine and see how bad it is cracked
There are several generic YouTube videos about replacing a belt but I did not see anything specifying your 734 but you may be able to find something very similar.
You might try calling Sears Service Center (local zip code would be the best) to see if they can help you. They may also be able to order the correct belt replacement. Sears handles almost all models of machines.
They can most likely replace the belt for you if it comes to that.
I have not found Singer support to be very helpful but everyone has different experiences when contacting companies.
If your machine's belt is that bad, it is possible your machine really needs a complete servicing.
I have had good luck finding reputable service technicians through craft stores like Michael's or Jo Ann's as I believe this is the route you may have to take.

Thank you. I finally found a download for replacing the belt on my 734. Very complicated, as most of the machine has to be disassembled.
Maybe you can find a better way to do the repair and make your own YouTube video. They are becoming quite the go to and people are learning to do videos and eventually monatize them! I am at the tip of the learning process! There are niches for sewing machine and typewriter repairs!
Hope your repair has you up and stitching! Blessings!
