I'm trying to figure out how to replace the needle on this.

Vintage consoles can use different types of needles according to the brand/model/age so since you do not state the brand or model no one should give you advice because it could be the wrong type of information.
I would suggest that you ask your question on Google using the brand name and model or age of your console.
There are some other ways to find help on Google. Take a look at these images and see if your console/brand happens to be here.

There are several YouTube videos but I have no way to know if these relate to your brand/model.

Most of the time you can find a needle replacement online for different brands of consoles or stereos. However, the only way to do this is to find out who has made this, the make and model number. Needles are not a one size fits all. Once you have this information you can purchase your replacement needle. If you can give us the make, model, and brand of the unit maybe we can help you out in finding a video on YouTube that will show you how to swap out your needle.
Stereo consoles are making a come back! It's great that you still have a vintage working console. There are quite a few links to doing this along with video's and a few with step by step.
