Make plarn (about 2 inches thick) with the plastic and crochet baskets, purses, and bags, among other things.
To make the piece more sturdy or give it a color theme attach regular yarn to the plarn and crochet together.
I attached a very thin yarn to my plarn while making the yellow/orange and blue clutches.
You can also switch between the plarn and the yarn or craft rope for more color. Another option for pieces to be more sturdy is to gather together 2 or 3 strings of plarn and crochet these as you work.
Here are a few other examples:
Total Time: Varies
Supplies:
Note that depending on your piece, you will require different amounts of plarn. Some pieces use only 8 - 10 garment bags, others more than 20.

Go to YouTube and learn how to make plarn. Just search how to make plarn. It is very easy and fast.

I'm curious as to just how long the items you make from this plastic will last and if they are very durable. My understanding is, this type plastic is of such a chemical nature it will break down rather quickly so as to be less of a burden on the environment.
Regardless of their lifespan, the pieces you have made and shown here are truly works of art, right down to the very 'eye pleasing' color combinations.
Since we have been getting plastic bags from stores I have been making door mats...with the different colors from different stores they make great rugs....I made them for all my kids for their homes....they are great in the summer but I bring them in during the winter with the snow.....
