How do you answer someone who has asked you to Sadies?
By Meg from SLC, UT
If you would like to attend the Sadie Hawkins function, simply say that you would like to go. It sounds like it would be a fun thing to do.
If you would not like to go, then say that it doesn't sound like much fun to you and you aren't planning on attending or going to it with anyone, and then don't go.
If it because of who did the asking that makes you disinterested; be tactful in turning that person down.
Tell him/her that you are waiting on someone else to ask you and won't be saying yes to anyone else yet. That is less hurtful and probably more truthful even if it doesn't take place and if someone else does ask and you prefer him/her over the first invite, then go for it.
The first party will not know who it was you were waiting for and if they see you at the function will assume that person was the one you were waiting for. Just smile or say hi and let it go at that if you see each other, and don't hide or feel guilty. If this person asks you for a dance, it would be mannerly to accept. Two rejections would not go unnoticed. (11/09/2009)

If you want to go with that person simply say yes. If you don't want to go with that person simply tell them that you either 1: already have a date or 2: that you want to go alone but hope to see them there. Of course, don't lie and be sure to say thank you no matter which answer it is. (11/13/2009)
