My daughter is a naturally strawberry blonde/red and has been dyeing her hair dark brown. She would now prefer to go back to her natural color maybe with blonde highlights. What's the best way of doing this?

In order for her to not damage her hair I would suggest that you make an appointment with your hairdresser. She will know the best way to restore the natural color of her hair and add the highlights she wants. Normally this will involve stripping out the dye color that is in her hair now. I think it would be best for her if she did it professionally. I know people who have tried this on their own and their hair has turned green.
Yes thank you I think you are right, although I wanted a cheapish solution think if we tried it ourselves could cost us more in the long run!!
To go lighter you must lift the current color off abs then deposit the new color. This two-step process is difficult to do unless you have training and is almost impossible to do yourself.
If she just lets it grow out, it will look strange. I would take her to a good hair stylist and let her use her expertise to get your daughter's hair back to the original color.
