Ever get sticker shock when you buy paper towels?
In our family, if we use a paper towel to dry out clean but wet hands, we put the unwrinkled flattened wet paper towel on the counter to dry. Then we can reuse the relatively clean and now dry paper towel in the garage to check oil levels, clean tools, greasy hands, etc.
This has saved us untold amounts of dollars over the years and we don't have to buy many, if any, shop towels!

That's a good tip. You have my vote.
I have been saving these clean used paper towels for several years. I have a plastic grocery bag hanging in my kitchen that I collect them in. They are dry and may have some coffee stains on them or just used at the table as a napkin.
I use them for wiping food off the dishes before washing. They are great for cleaning out the grease left in the frying pan after scrapping out all you can.
During the summer months, I try not to invite gnats and animals to the garbage inside and outside of the house. I freeze any waste food that has an odor to it and keep it frozen until trash take off day.
Even cheaper is a towel in the kitchen to dry hands on, a sponge to clean off counters, an old used gift card to scrapr dishes and pans with. No money spent unnecessarily.
One of my staff told me that years ago. Her Italian grandma hung them out all the time. Thanks for reminding me .
I buy shammy clothes and have a bin under that cabinet. I leave one out for my hands. I then wash it with the regular laundry.
