Just wanted to share a picture of the biggest rhododendron I have ever seen! It belongs to my neighbors. My boys are in front of it to give perspective of just how enormous it is.

This little rhododendron is the first to bloom in my garden every spring. I've planted about twenty rhodies in my garden, and they bloom from February though June. I selected the varieties I have, after studying two books with information on rhododendrons.
Here is the purple rhododendron that grows right outside my front door. I haven't ever seen so many blooms at once. I bought it at the farmer's market many years ago because of the beautiful flowers, which are a deeper and more electric color than the light purple rhodies you normally see.
This is a wild Rhodie bush. They grow all over here in WA.

In my driveway, there were two rhodie bushes very close together. One was pink, the other lilac in color.
