Ribbon Bookmark - ribbon stretched over a composition book When I toss my notebooks in my bag sometimes the pages get caught on something. I like having this ribbon bookmark on, so my notebook doesn't open. My ribbon bookmark is for my composition notebook measuring 9.75" x 7.5".

You can apply this same concept in shorter or longer length depending on your notebook, book, or even household appliances, or cords.

Total Time: 10 minutes

Supplies:

stretch elastic cord/string
ribbon
needle
thread
scissors
button

Steps:

Cut stretch elastic cord about 4.5" and tie a knot. Cut off excess.

Ribbon Bookmark - cut a piece of elastic, knot, and cut off excess

Loop your ribbon of choice through the elastic and sew.

This is how you will measure to see how much stretch you need for your notebook (or item) to see where you will need your button to be sewn on. The total length of the ribbon I used was 19 inches.
