Riding Mower Won't Start?

I started the mower for the first time this year, it ran for about 2 minutes and stopped. I thought it was the gas, but when I tried to restart it there is nothing. I bought a new battery and still nothing. I have also checked the seat switch and it's working fine. Any help?
