A bowl of roasted cabbage.Some in our family do not like steamed cabbage but they love roasted cabbage. This has become one of our favorite vegetables. Since the weather is cold, I really enjoy cooking in the oven as it helps to heat the house.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Yield: 5 servings

Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. Preheat oven 400 degrees F
  2. Slice cabbage into quarters and remove the core. Slice the quarters into small strips and place into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  4. Stir and mix well.
  5. Chopped cabbage in a bowl.
     
  6. Transfer to a large shallow baking pan.
  7. Chopped cabbage on a baking sheet.
     
  8. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and stir well.
  9. Return to oven and bake for 10 more minutes or until edges begin to brown and it's the desired tenderness.
  10. Roasted cabbage on a baking sheet.

I make roasted cabbage all the time, it is inexpensive, easy, and healthy. I season mine a little differently, and cook it a little longer, but think I will try it your way next time. It really is surprising how much tastier roasted cabbage is, than cabbage fixed other ways. Thanks for the recipe!

I make mine in the microwave with onion, salt, pepper, and bacon drippings. Cook on high until as tender as I like.
