Our roof was somewhat old and Hurricane Harvey finished it off. I am not eligible for FEMA help. I live in Fort Bend County, Texas. I own my home and land. I already have a replacement quote from someone. What are my best options in finding a charity or government grant to help? I see too many things out there to make sense of it all or to just start applying for everything. Please help me.

I do not know why you cannot receive any assistance from FEMA but if you applied several months ago (Hurricane Harvey 8/25/2017) you should reapply as a lot of changes have occurred in who qualifies for FEMA help.
Do you have home insurance?
The home owner's insurance wont pay on the roof because they say it was already fully depreciated past what condition they would help with.
Did they come out to appraise your property previously to know it was not in the best condition prior? Sorry to hear that.
You can try:
No they just had 2 separate photographers document the roof damage.
I would contact Habitat for Humanity.

Here's a link for your county and it says FREE HOME REPAIR PROGRAMS, (if you qualify). Sure hope this can help you.

If you live in the county you try your local USDA office they provided very low interest loans and you can take up to 20years to pay.For seniors they offer grant money. Free money
