I dyed my hair at home and hated the color so I stripped it. Now my hair is back to my natural color except that my roots are much lighter. How do I fix this? Do I just get some dye that matches the rest of my hair or is there more to it than that?

What is your natural hair colour? If you dye it all darker than your natural hair it will even out. If you choose an unusual semi permanent colour you will still be able to see the light/dark difference.
My natural hair is a light brown with hints of dark blonde
Just color your roots the same color as the rest of your head.
I was afraid to do that because that's why I stripped my hair. I dyed it a dark brown and my roots where so much lighter than the rest of my hair I looked like a skunk
