I have two children. I am on SSI disability and my daughter is on SSI disability. I am separated from their father. I am currently filing to receive child support. How much will that effect my SSI disability, how much will that effect my daughter's SSI and will it effect the amount of my son's child support? Thank you for any information.

It would depend on the amount of child support you receive. Talk to your local Social Security Office about it.
You say you are "filing" for child support?
Are you legally separated from your husband?
Are you using an attorney to "file" for child support?
Social Security office can help you with answers but they will want to know everything about the amount of money you will/might receive before they can really answer your questions. Sometimes child support does not change the amount one receives on SSI but it may affect the amount of support a father has to pay.
A lot of things may also depend on the ages of the children. Generally you will be able to continue receiving all of the extra government assistance you now receive - fair or not?
My son receives child support in the amount of $573 a month. He only receives $189.00 from SSI because he receives this amount of child support.
Does that mean that the social security will have to payback the months that the father did not pay support?? Cuz I had to pay back cuz I started receiving support from him does it go both ways?? They went back a year and so, so just wondering
