Starting throughout the month of August, some states are participating in tax-free purchases toward clothing, footwear, electronics, school supplies, etc. Perfect to start or do some last minute on Back to School shopping.
*Each state varies
*Not all items are qualified
*Must read fine print (i.e.: eligible items, price cap)
Participating states:
- Arkansas (8/4 - 8/5)
- Connecticut (8/19 - 8/25)
- Flordia (8/3 - 8/5)
- Iowa (8/3 - 8/4)
- Maryland (8/12 - 8/18)
- Massachusetts (8/11 - 8/12)
- Missouri (8/3 - 8/5)
- New Mexico (8/3 - 8/5)
- Ohio (8/3 - 8/5)
- Oklahoma (8/3 - 8/5)
- South Carolina (8/3 - 8/5)
- Texas (8/10 - 8/12)
- Virginia (8/3 - 8/5)
- Wisconsin (8/1 - 8/5)
If you live in a state that does not participate in this offer, like myself (I live in California), there may be some other stores participating but I'm not sure, you can check their social media or call to ask.
One store I know that is honoring the "tax break" is Kohl's. They're actually giving California residents Tax-Break Savings (8/3 - 8/5) an extra 10% off which is greater than local sales tax where I'm at so that is very generous!
