Photo Description The elephant on this photo is Sally, the matriarch of the herd. Being so close to her, and being able to touch her and pose for photos alongside her, made me realize just how small and insignificant we as humans really are. A truly breathtaking experience!
On a recent weekend trip to the sea, we went to the Knysna Elephant Park. They offer a "Be Touched by an Elephant Experience." We bought a bucket full of elephant feed and then got up close and personal with one of nature's biggest mammals.

I'm learning a lot about South African wildlife parks from you Bessie! I love seeing your postings and photos. Presumably the elephants there are safe. It's so sad to hear about all the poaching going on in Africa; it has to be stopped.
Hi Pixiedust,
Luckily, in our country, elephants are still safe. Our biggest problem is rhino poaching, but so far, our elephants are still safe. I agree, I wish we could end all poaching, these animals deserve to have a future!
Have a great Christmas!
