I scoured the internet in search of the best way of removing rust stains from clothes. The method I ran into the most was rubbing salt into the stain with vinegar and letting it dry in the sun. Sadly, it didn't work. I feel like there wasn't even a slight lift of the stain with this method.
Next, I will try boiling it with cream of tartar.

A product called Whink does a super job of eliminating rust on clothes. Just squirt on rust mark and watch it dissapear!
You can use white or Apple Cider vinegar to remove rust from tools - just let the tool soak for 2 or 3 days and rust will usually be gone.
Clothes; not so good probably.
I always keep a container of Whink on hand for that occasional time I have a rust problem; always works great - just be careful when handling.
Whink can be found in most large Walmart/Target/Hardware stores and online.

Someone just informed me that lemon and vinegar would remove rust but I have never tried this so only offer it as something to try.
Also, be careful with some 'rust removal' products as not all are intended to be used on clothes. Rust X is for stopping rust on metals.
