Being a busy mom I find myself trying to save time and money at the grocery store. Here is how I have saved money and time with ground beef or chuck:
- I always check out the marked down meat area. Getting to the grocery store early in the morning is the best time to find a good deal.
- I always make hamburger patties with the ground chuck or hamburger. I pre-patty them and put them in a freezer bag. These patties can be put on the grill, fried, oven baked, or just used for spaghetti and Hamburger Helper. Beef can be frozen and will stay good for several months.
- I always check to see if the large rolls of ground hamburger are on sale. Then I take the rolls to the butcher. He then slices it into hamburger patties; I like 1/2 inch patties. The great part is you don't need to pre-patty these. Just put them into a freezer bag and you have burger patties for any meal.
