As I have gotten older, health problems are rampant. I have problems with my hips and it had gotten very hard to get out of the my chair. My husband and I priced lift chairs. Even the little portable lift is all too expensive to even dream about.
So my husband spent around $20 for lumber and built a 3 inch high platform for the chair to set on. This raised it up high enough that I no longer have to have assistance getting up. This idea was a combination of need and frugality.

How can a seat lift be made for a recliner chair? I need one badly. If anyone has a clue please let me know. Thank you.

I don't know how to make a lift chair, but this site lists numbers to call to try and obtain a free lift chair for low income or elderly people.
Hello, thanks I'll sure check these out. You would think they'd ask you if you needed these things when you see a doctor, but we never knew. Thanks.
I've seen portable lifts that you put on a chair, couch, etc. on websites that offer handicap devices.
