Some ideas to consider:
Cover tables with white paper on which you have drawn a scrabble board of blank squares. Provide guests with a list of baby related words, and have tables compete to see who can fit all the words into the squares first. Have small prizes for the wiinning table.
If you can get enough Scrabble games, use them as centerpieces for tables, scattering tiles over the board with a vase of flowers on it. Instead of clothespins or safety pins, give each guest 5 Scrabble tiles in a baggie to be used in the cross your ankles/knees game, with the winner being the one with the most tiles.
If sending paper invitations, use blank cards and create a Scrabble style invite.
There is a website called babbee.com with a lot of helpful information about giving baby showers. Hope this is helpful.
If you can get some extra Scrabble tiles (from old games or the manufacturer of the game), try creating a baby-themed Scrabble game.
Another alternative is to create a themed puzzle of your own. You can create a puzzle at Eclipse Crossword.
