How do I remove scuff marks on children's white leather shoes and the rubber sole?
J.G.
I remember using fingernail polish remover on white shoes when I was younger. Use very little on a cotton swab or Q-tip and gently rub the black marks. They should rub off. NEVER do this on black patent it will not work. It leaves a bad dull smear.

I use rubbing alcohol. (06/25/2005)

Try using toothpaste. A white-colored toothpaste will work best. Squeeze some on a damp washcloth and rub the paste into the area containing the scuff marks. May take a little elbow grease to make the marks disappear, but the toothpaste has just enough abrasive in it to do the job. My mother used to use this on my white shoes when I was young. I tried the alcohol and it worked! The scuff marks came off instantly and it did not require scrubbing. Furthermore, it did not remove the color. Thank you Sara! (04/18/2006)

Thank you soo much! Didn't think nail polish remover would work but my shoes look brand new. You would never tell I had marks on them in the first place now. Thanks heaps! (04/05/2007)

Use toothpaste. WHITE toothpaste. I used blue toothpaste once and it stained them, but white toothpaste works like a dream!
