Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients:
- 4-6 center-cut pork chops
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 envelope Lipton Onion-Mushroom soup mix
- 1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet/Gravy Master
- 3 Tbsp Wondra flour
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 1 8 oz. package whole white mushrooms, sliced
- Seasonings
- 1/4 tsp seasoned salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp garlic
- 1/4 tsp parsley
- sage, thyme and basil, to taste
Steps:
- Using a large covered skillet. Put 2 tsps. olive oil in pan and heat.
- Take all your seasonings and mix them together in a small bowl, mix very well. Use these seasonings as a rub, and rub this on each side of the pork chops.
- Place the chops in the hot oil. Turning over after about 1 minute. Adjust the heat if too hot. Cook until both sides are dark golden brown.
- Using a 2 cup measuring cup, mix Lipton soup mix, flour and 2 cups of very hot water, stirring rapidly until smooth. Add the Gravy Master. Pour this mixture over the chops, stirring well for a few minutes.
- When this starts bubbling, lower to simmer. Add onions and mushrooms, and let simmer for 1 hour-1-1/2 hours.
You can serve this over Light n' Fluffy egg noodles and a fresh vegetable. Or we love this with couscous and a vegetable.
