Whenever I am making a soup, stew, sauce or anything that will need many seasonings, I use the method I pictured below!
I line up on my counter all the spices I will be using. I then take each spice and measure it out and pour it gently into small round piles on top. Then when I am done, I can check that I have used everything I needed for my recipe. It really keeps things organized.
One hour after simmering, I always do a test taste! Then I adjust things like salt, pepper, sugar or garlic! I find this very helpful!

This is definitely a good idea...though with my lack of motor skills, I imagine they would not just sit there like that, but they'd either will/bow everywhere or just sink to the bottom...
It did make me chuckle to look at it, though. It looks like several furry creatures are sleeping on top of the stew. XD
Saber, that is quite funny. I truly think it is strange the way the seasonings sit there. But, I do it all the time with soups, stews, itaian sauces and gravies. I guess it must be magic. I also line up the spices first and do this very quickly. If it were to sit there, they probably would sink.
One time, I accidentally dropped my phone in a pot of soup while trying to take a picture. Luckily, it went in pretty flat so it floated on top long enough for me to quickly snatch it up. The surface tension can hold stuff up a surprisingly long amount of time.
Oh no!!! :( Not good at all. I keep getting my phone all yucky from sticky, gooey, messy hands trying to take pictures while I'm cooking. But, it is so much fun. I just continually clean it off with a slightly damp paper towel.
Yes, luckily there was no damage. I'm better at photography with my phone now but it is easier if my photographer husband takes pictures while I do the cooking or crafting. :)
Oh no! I have almost dropped my phone a couple times from taking food pictures too, hehe. :)
