Security Tips for Single Women Living Alone

March 12, 2008

door lockAs a single woman living alone, one way I make myself feel just a bit more secure is by keeping a large, dirty pair of men's work boots with some wadded up socks on top of them on my front porch. Just that added security of seeing a pair of large boots there, like someone just took them off. It makes an unwanted person think twice. Of course, my dog is the "best" for letting me know about any unexpected noises. ;-)

That is an extremely good tip! I wish I'd heard it when I was single. I bet plenty of well-used work boots can be had in thrift stores.

I LOVE your idea. Old boots and a 357 should do the trick.
