I still tape my homemade seedling pots as I have not mastered the crimping technique. I would like to add though, if you have access to phone books, the pages are the perfect size for seedling pots. Without any cutting, and depending the size of your form and how the page is folded, you can make pots in a variety of sizes. Very small pots will require only one page, while large pots should be made with two to three layers of pages.

You might also want to try small seedling starter pots from toilet paper and paper towel cardboard rolls - something everyone has and likely just throws away. Flatten a t-paper roll and cut in half to make 2 "rings". Open it up, then fold in half lengthwise again. When you open it up you'll have a square tube. Using scissors, snip the tube where the folds are about 5/8". Fold the tabs inward and interweave them like you would do to close the top of a cardboard box. You can set your seed starters on a styrofoam tray like those used for meat, which will make them easy to move and waterproof. Simply plant the cardboard with the seedling.
Anne,
I like your cute little tube pots. By ending up square, you can get more in a container with no wasted space. But, the reason I use phone book pages is simple.
