Selling Trees for the Lumber?

I have 2 big pine trees in my back yard. I need to sell them.

If you need the trees removed, you will have to pay someone. It is not an even deal to exchange the lumber for removal.

Are you sure these are clearly on your property and not on any public right of way? I had a large tree that I thought was all mine, but learned that it was half mine and half on my municipality's right of way. They paid 1/2 of the removal because the roots were damaging the public road.

Best to start with your local government and see about this and also if they have any special rules/regs before you even go down the path of removal.

Where I am no one wants pine trees in turn for taking them down. The wood just is not valuable enough and the work is too hard.

I hope you find a reasonable solution.

Best wishes.

Sorry, but most likely you will have to pay big money to have these trees removed; especially if you want the stumps removed and the debris cleaned up.

How high the removal fee will be will mostly depend on several factors:
Are you in a residential area?
Do you have a concrete drive they have to drive on?

Are the trees "big/old'?
If trees are large then a special tree cutting truck may be needed (very expensive!).
Are the trees within 'falling' distance of a building?
Are their electrical/power lines near by?
Does your city require a permit to have a tree cut down?
Do you have homeowner's liability insurance?
Will you need someone with a license and business liability insurance?
Do you want stumps removed?
Do you want trees cut up and removed?
Do you want the debris cleaned up?
All of these can add to the price of removal.

Occasionally you can get tree work done for less money if someone is doing a job within a few miles of your property.

Sorry, but this is probably true almost anywhere in the country and especially with pine trees but there is no harm in checking out any mill works in your county as they might be interested in your trees (and save you some money).
