Sewing Machine Doesn't Feed Fabric?

My machine sews a scrap OK, but the valance I'm working on in the same material, same thickness sits and sews in one spot. It will not feed material along.

Make sure the valance is not hanging off the sewing table. The weight of it may cause the machine not to feed.
