How and when did you get your pet?
I rescued Shaka from a drainage ditch on the side of the road. I heard a car pull up in front of my friend's home. The passenger threw a carton into the deep drainage ditches we have on our road. In the carton were 5 baby kittens. Four of the kittens were very sick. The kittens were three weeks old and hadn't opened their eyes yet.
I recovered the carton from the drainage ditch and took the kittens to the vet. When I arrived at the vet's one of the baby kittens was dead. The vet could only save one of the kittens. I took the kitten home and bottled feed him for 3 weeks. I became so attached to the kitten during this time. As he grew, gained strength, and feed from the bottle I knew he was a survivor.
One night I watched the film Shaka Zulu. At this time my boyfriend said that was an excellent name for the kitten. We decided to call him Shaka.
What does your pet like to do for fun?
Shaka is very playful and loves to chase a small plastic ball around the house. His favorite pastime is stretching out on our couch and taking a nap. He loves to patrol the river in front of our home looking for rats to chase and kill.
Do you have anything else to share about your pet?
Shaka is a large cat and weights 11.5 kilos. When he walks around in the river people say he resembles a lion. I have no idea why they call him a lion. It might be because of his large size, he is very big.
I am very fortunate to have found Shaka in time to save his life. He is a great cat, loving and affectionate.

Aren't cats great? We have three and love them so much. Interesting post.
Thank God you saw it and rescued them. Poor little things,some people should be put down.
