Photo Description
Due to poor health, I haven't done any gardening in the past two years. I have lost most everything as a result. Fortunately, there are a few plants that if in a good place, will continue to thrive for many years without any care at all. The peony is such a plant. I made the mistake of keeping my peony in a container for about ten years. It never bloomed in all that time. Within two years of transferring it to the ground, it became well established and did bloom. And it bloomed on Mother's Day. She's a beauty!
I call the Peony 'The Mother's Day Flower'. That's because most people who grow them hope they are in bloom on Mother's Day and are thrilled when they are.
