Gold Post Medal for All Time! 677 Posts Save money and do it yourself! Shortening a watch band can be quite easily done at home.
Supplies:
- nail or thin screwdriver
- small hammer
Steps:
- Turn your watch so you can see the inside of the band. Some links will be marked with an arrow. Those are the links that can be removed.
- Make sure the arrow is pointing down. Put your nail or screwdriver on top of the pin that holds the links together. Push in the direction of the arrow. The pin will come out and the link will come off. Tape this pin to a piece of paper so that you don't lose it.
- Remove an equal number of links from both sides so the watch face will be centered on your wrist.
- When you are ready to reattach the part with the closing buckle, place the pieces together. This time make sure the arrow is pointing up. Put the pin in, and tap it with the hammer so the links are securely fastened.
