My mom says I should take Advil for my period cramps, but Advil makes them worse by a lot. But my mom says it was a one time thing. Should I take Advil for my period cramps?

Pain relief: Ibuprofen ( Advil, Motrin & Nuprin (Naproxen) Aleve are perfect, for this type of pain. The best part is you do not need a prescription!
Period cramps can be bad at the start of each period and will lessen as the days pass. Many people recommend a non-asprin pain reliever when this one happens. If you are experiencing a lot of pain each month and really heavy flow I would like to have you talk with your mom about this.
I am 15 so my flow is random, when I wrote this, my cramps where really bad.
No one can actually tell you about medicines as each of the types may or may not help you so be sure to read up on this problem and discuss it with your mother.
This seems to be a new beginning for you and sometimes it helps to know a little more about what causes these pains and different ways to treat them.
Most of the time meds like Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil or Aleve but sometimes one works for one person while it does not help another so you may have to try different ones until you find the one that works for you.
Tylenol can also be used if the others do not help the cramps.
Doctors usually recommend to start taking the meds at the first sign of pain and continue taking everyday until the pain is gone but still discuss this with your mother.
There are other things you can try that may help relieve the pain such as using a heating pad or hot water bottle when pain starts (usually before your period begins).
Read information on these links and maybe ask your Mom for advice.

Please check with a doctor or nurse and do not take medical guidance from social media. I just saw someone on another site tell someone something that if they followed it would be very dangerous.
Thank you I will be careful!
Period cramps can be very, very painful!! I know from experience.
Pain relievers I've used, that worked, had 2 different medications combined, but Advil never worked for me. Read the labels so that you know exactly what pain reliever you are taking. For me and my daughter, combining half a dose of Acetaminophen and half a dose of Ibuprofen has been the best combination. You should also try some of the brands made for cramps to see if they work for you.
